Tabling stories

Form as a materialisation of the intangible

Storytelling serves as a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences, promoting meaningful interactions through narratives. Adhi encourages individuals to recount their unique experiences relating to food and eating culture in the forthcoming dialogues and creative workshops.

Inspiration for this method came from Adhi's research trip to Indonesia, where he engaged with traditional potters from Sitiwinangun, West Java. The stories about their career journeys, accomplishments, and the rationale behind their artwork turned formal interviews into shared experiences filled with vision and emotion, prompting a deeper understanding of their design narratives.

In the upcoming workshop led by Adhi, the aim is to replicate these experiences. Participants will bring their abstract ideas to life using clay and explore the design-making process through action and reflection. This serves as an open invitation for visitors to join the conversation and participate in ceramic making.

Workshop on Monday 27/05, 2:15–4pm
